It seems to be the news of the moment reported by ZDnet, Softpedia, Phoronix, whose source is the entry WSL 2 support is coming to Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909  from Microsoft’s commnadline blog.
It’s about WSL 2 ( windows subsystem Linux ) of which we already mentioned it brings a Linux kernel.

Support for the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2 distributions is being supported by Windows 10 version 1903, and 1909!  At the request of this WSL 2 feature and users wanted to expand its accessibility, that’s why in the last few years Microsoft has been working on bringing WSL 2 back to Windows 10 versions 2019 the 1903 and 1909.

The backport of WSL 2 to Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909 will be available through Windows Update, so users will only have to check manually for updates. Only x64 devices will be able to get it right now, and Microsoft says that those running ARM64 need to upgrade to Windows 10, April 2020 version 2004 to use WSL 2.

You can go to miccrosoft documentation to install WSL 2 or upgrade.
