|
In its 2011 annual report, the Linux Foundation announced that Microsoft has become one of the 20 contributors to the Linux Kernel. In addition, Microsoft has contributed 1% of the Linux kernel code since 2010.
The biggest contribution was made to the maintenance of Hyper-V drivers that was released open source in 2009, because in its implementation of this was combined open source and Microsoft’s own code and due to the GPL license. had to give it to the community.
This contribution can be labeled as interested is for the VMS, Linux virtual machines, to work properly in its Hyper-V, necessary for Microsoft Azure to work optimally.
